FIBERART “FIBER TRICKS ”
Gallery G-Art is hosting the International Fiber Artist

International textile artist Suhandan Özay Demirkan; presents her latest works to art lovers with the “Fiber Games” exhibition at Gallery G-Art. In this exhibition, "Anatolian Fiber Shoes - Anatolian Shoes", which are in international collections and museums, are exhibited for the first time in its own geography. In addition, the new collection called “Fiber Games” includes silk and paper shoes, caftan-kimono interpretations and space textiles.

Suhandan Özay Demirkan, who has developed a discourse equivalent to the plastic arts platform today, includes new arrangements in the “Fiber Games” exhibition, in which usable and abstract-conceptual works will take place together. Reaching new individual interpretations from the combination of known materials such as silk, paper, felt and fiber, the artist thinks that Fiber Art offers new possibilities in the art of transforming the two-dimensional expression of traditional textile techniques and materials into three-dimensional spatial interpretations.

“My collection called 'FIBER TRICKS', which consists of sculptural elements, is based on my perceptions, feelings and thoughts about art, space and time, enriched by my conceptual experiences. Undoubtedly, this collection is proof of how free a creative scene art and crafts are. “Fiber GAMES” is a small mix of my artistic adventure, navigating between dream and reality, yesterday and tomorrow, tradition and modernity, locality and universality.”

The artist's works are in official and private collections in Lodz Museum / Poland, Akademie Der Ange Wande Kunste archive / Vienna-Austria, Istanbul Hilton Hotel and Turkey, Egypt, America, England, Germany.
